The concept of yourmusic.com is simple. Browse albums, which are mostly Top 40. Make a list of the ones you want. They send you one a month and charge your credit card. The technical details of the web site work well. Make sure that your list is prepopulated because you will be charged monthly whether or not they send you a CD. The price is currently reasonable, $6.99 per CD, but be wary that it can be raised at any time. It was raised from my initial subscription price of $5.99. The current price is still reasonable, but it amounted to a greater than 16% rise in prices, which is pretty steep. I recently cancelled my subscription because for several months in a row they did not have available the CDs I signed up for months before. From a customer perspective, the purpose of having the list is so that you will know what albums you have promised are available and they can buy them in bulk to deliver them when the time comes. It also provides convenience so that I can create a list once and forget about it for a year or more and keep receiving new music to listen to. I don't want new titles. I want the ones that I put on my list that they later said that they could not provide. This type of behavior amounts to a bait and switch. They are offering one product, then saying it is not available and attempting to have me purchase another that is more convenient for them, probably because it is cheaper. They have broken the trust of the customer relationship and wasted my time. I severed the relationship with yourmusic.com because they are not a reliable vendor and urge others to find another vendor to purchase CDs.
