Rosselini's "Il Generale della Rovere" and "Viaggio in Italia"

Bresson's "Pickpocket" and "A Man Escapes"

Ichikawa's "Fire on the Plain" and "Burmese Harp"

The searing conclusion to Kobayashi's "Human Condition" should go onto the 1960s list (the first two parts were released in 1959, the third in 1961)
