I still dont get it. Probably the most anticipated comic book hero's and they come out with this? What people dont' remember is that they made another terrible Fantastic 4 movie in 1985 that was so bad they never released it in the U.S. Where are those guys now!!!
Carrie Russell was originally supposed to be Sue Storm, but they thought with the younger crowd Alba would be popular.
Alba is cute, but Good God she is the worst actress. She could overact drinking tea. And if they bleach that poor girls hair one more time its going to turn to straw. It looks awful. Why do they turn all brown girls into blond white girls? Well thats another show.
Lawrence Fishborne and Doug Jones steal the show; the Silver Surfer is the only smart thing in the movie. Great action and a great character. Julian McMahon isn't bad either as Dr. Doom. Chris Evans is also another terrible actor; when he and Alba are in a scene by themselves I can feel America getting dumber. Mike Chiklis is fun but I'm sure he's getting sick of this.
I think the story had potential but the middle school wise cracks, and the terrible acting by Alba and Evans just can't make it happen. Carrie Russell would have made this series so much better and maybe another actor would have made it funner too.
This series has no hope of ever being all that good because of 2 of the actors, and the mindless plots. For hard core Fantastic 4 fans, you will cringe at times, especially when the great Galactus is an energy entity; not getting that one; or when Alba and Evans speaks; but young kids and avg. fans might like it some for the special effects which are good.
