so much for your great review, Dave. I've never been to Ikea. I guess I was overwhelmed by the anticipated size of it, but I plan on going there in the near future. You've provided a terrific visual, and I'm now ready!

how the IKEA format is identical the world over - the layout as you describe it is almost exactly the same as my local store in Leeds, England - no car though!
Very well described - I always need a brave heart to fight the queues...

I have never been to the store. I imagine the Burbank, CA one was like this chaos when it first opened years ago. I was working in the area and was not about to endure those crowds.
I have yet to get there because their items need to be assembled and I stink at that.

Ikea is one of the very few stores considered big enough and popular enough to be actual Destinations... so you can have it added to the travel database:
