Ordering was pretty straightforward on this site but I did not see the manufacturer's item number to identify the item I was ordering. This is annoying because I had to rely on the picture (which was small) and the Jo-ann website description of the product. Including the manufacturer's product code would have made accurate identification of what I ordered (a lamp for hobby use) easier.
I found that the shipping process was not very user friendly. I shop online a lot and am accustomed to be able to track my order or at the very least, be given an indication of shipping time to my delivery zipcode. With the Jo-ann website, you're sent a form email with no tracking available so I really had no idea in the date range (which was broad. Up to 10 days?) when to expect my order. I feel that the website would be far better if it included more accurate delivery times and/or tracking capabilities.
On a positive note, my order arrived in good time (6-7 business days from date of order), within the delivery date range given. The item itself (a lamp, that included a special bulb) was packed well and arrived intact. The only reason I ordered online and from Jo-ann is that local stores did not stock the model of lamp I wanted so I had little choice but to order online and Jo-ann had special pricing on this brand at the time so it was a good value purchase. I thought the shipping cost was pricy but this was absorbed through the sale pricing of my item.
