Absolute disappointment. I sit here as a jilted consumer, advising any of you who might be considering a purchase from this company (or any of its other incarnations) to go elsewhere--don't take the chance. Just read all of the bad stories about their service and BELIEVE them. I thought that I would be able to avoid the same difficulties about which I read (the "it can't happen to me" syndrome) but am now severely angry for having allowed myself to do business with these jerks.
Summary of issues: Easy to buy online (of course it is--they don't really have to prove that they have anything in stock, that it's new or that they can meet their advertised shipping timelines when dealing in cyberspace). Then my credit card info was taken ASAP, and then.....crickets. Had to call after a week to verify that they (not some hacker) got my order. After getting the 2 second "yeah, fella (click)" from a fast talking punk on a cheap headset, I tried to remain calm and awaited further contact from them and/or delivery in the time frame they advertised. Neither happened (remember, 7-10 day delivery was guaranteed).
Another call from me. Another "yeah, we got it, buddy" rapid-fire response from a too-busy New Yorker without providing any shipping info or order status. Growing concerned, but still feeling that all will work out in the end if I am just patient. (Note: I read all of the negative reviews of PCVideoOnline during while I was waiting for my LCD TV to be delivered, and found that most of them were due to impatience on the part of the customers, who were finding themselves in much the same situation as I was now experiencing).
Then, about two weeks later, a shipping company from NJ contacts me and arranges shipping for the LCD TV I ordered from PCVideoOnline. I take delivery (a week and a half beyond the promised date) and then arrange to have my local installer place it in a custom entertainment center I had built to house the TV. I get all excited as we open the box, being very careful to note whether or not it appeared to be a gray market item or not (remember, they advertise that all of their merchandise is factory new). After concluding that it looks like a new TV we get it on the wall, hook it up, and put on a DVD. Up comes the HD picture with a HUGE BURNED IN SPOT IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER.
CURSE YOU PCVIDEOONLINE!!!!! You probably sold me a TV that sat for weeks at some trade show with the same image blazing on it and then repackaged it neatly to look brand new. I will make every effort to bad mouth you to anyone who will listen until the day I die. I am immensely disappointed with myself, but am really angry that dishonest businesses like you stay in business.
