Hi Wanda :-) I agree - KC and the Sunshine Band ruled in my day. Okay. Our day. We've both given away our age, I'm afraid! lol
I know that missing your Dad is something that will always be with you, even if it's not on the surface all the time. I think it's good for us to bring those feelings out once in a while because it keeps our loved ones alive for us. You and your Dad may not have been close, but that deeper bond is still there, and it always will be. If you were to hear this song by Roger Wittaker and his daughter, Jessica, it'd bring tears to your eyes - it's so sweet and so eye-opening to the fact that we move on and we and our parents are separated by life, but never in our hearts.
Happy belated anniversary to you and your husband :-) That is wonderful, and I hope you share many more loving, happy years together. Blessings to you.

I also wanted to let you know thanx for the early morning cry. My dad and I weren't close so this hit a nerve since he's gone too. Never heard of the song your referring to though.
My hubby and I just celebrated 5 years marriage on August 24th.

Some really cool music here but KC and The Sunshine Band!?!? eek! You're right though, it is fun.
Regarding Tom Jones (my mother adores him by the way) I would bet big bucks that both Sunni and Sherri -- LOL!!! I just realized how that sounded.. Sunni and Sherri! We got them babes. -- Um, where was I? Oh yes, I would bet both Sunni and Sherri threw their undies at Tom.

I agree, "At Last" is such an awesome song and it means a lot to me on personal level. As far as Tom Jones? That Welch man is, and forever will be, a heart throb! (sigh) ;-) He's amazing! "It's Not Unusual" is a great song, one of his many that I remember greatly from my childhood. (plus, I have his CD's so I can crank up "It's Not Unusual" any time I want! lol) I've always admired him - perhaps it's because of my own Welch roots, or perhaps it's just because he's so... so... sooooooooo. :::fannin' maself:::

At Last by Etta James...what an awesome choice! I like several of these songs. I love I Can See Clearly Now. Of course, my Welsh heart was glad to see Tom Jones in there. That is a nice peppy song.
Never cave in to the Geritol, girlfriend. I loved seeing your soundtrack. Maybe I'll run in to you at the Oscars next spring. :)

Woohoo! Gimme that stuff! I need it! lol Yeah, this w/o was a real trip into the past and the present. True, variety is the spice of life, and I guess that's why I enjoy such a wide variety of music - I can't stand the "same old, same old" so the more variety I can get a hold of, the better! :-)

Hi Sherri :-) I know! I'll betcha there are many, many Epinionators (the whippersnappers) out there who haven't even heard of Tom Jones. I'm glad that you have seen him in concert; I have too, several years ago, and you're right - the man doesn't need a microphone at all - he can belt out those tunes like crazy! He has a powerful, unique voice that I have always loved.

Tom Jones?? TOM JONES!! I didn't think anyone remembered him anymore. I have seen this guy in concert...twice! He can belt out a song without needing the microphone. Glad to see he can still make it on people's lists.
