I live in Nova Scotia, but decided to shop on-line in the United States because of our strong Canadian dollar. I tried to buy a Tamron lens from Camera Addict that was advertised for $372, a great price compared to other e-stores ($499) I called their 1-800 number and was first told that they had the item in stock. When I said I wanted to buy one, his tactics changed. First, he said the $372 lens was the Chinese model and the "US" model was $349. I told him the Chinese model was fine, then more pressure to upgrade the lens to a metal mount I told him it would be my only lens and the "cheaper" mount was fine, he tried selling me filters. I told him the only item I wanted was the lens. Then, unbelievably, he told me that lens was NOT in stock and to call back in 4 weeks! With that, he hung up. I decided to order on-line to see if the lens was or wasn't in stock and I completed the order with any trouble and got a confirmation email of my order moments later. However,within hours of ordering on-line, I got two emails with separate messages. Both gave a 1-800 number to call. The first was to call to help expedite my order. The second email was that my credit card could not be processed. When I called, I was told that they in fact had the item in stock, but the credit card I had used didn't work. I told him that I had used it that same day without any trouble at another US on-line store. I offered to use another credit card and was handed another line that the credit card must be from a US bank (which is total crap). I finally told him that it was blatantly obvious to me that I would not be getting the lens as I had ordered. His reply was "You want to cancel the order", hung up, and then send an "order cancelled" email. Save your time and patience, shop elsewhere.
