Best Mouse I've ever had

Written: Nov 17 '07
Pros:Quick Scroll saves time and strain on fingers Battery Power Comfortable and solid Small
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: Best mouse I've ever had. Makes you more efficient, battery power is great, and actually very comfortable. Scroll is the biggest gain in efficiency.

I've probably bought around 5-10 Logitech mice over the years. This is by far their best. I've probably had around 3 remote mice, all pretty expensive but this one tops them all and is well worth it.

Initially I thought what's the big deal about a scroll that's fast? So what! Well...it turns out it makes scrolling a lot less work when you're scrolling through really any page. It's easy on your hands so that you don't get so much repetitive motion which is also good for your health.

The scroll is ball bearing. So you can spin and then stop it with your finger. It's very nice. I am also a programmer so this comes in handy when scrolling down a page of code, or down a huge list of records in SQL Server in a Database Table. It can zip from top to bottom of thousands of search results in a second.

The feel of this mouse is also the most comfortable I've had. Usually even expensive mice don't feel very solid. This one feels like it was built solid and has nice rubber where your thumb goes to really make it feel like a part of you.

I like how small it is. If I'm on the train, I can easily use it on my lap. It's not too small either in that you feel as though your hand is too big for this mouse. Your fingers don't extend beyond the mouse which is what I though t it would do originally which would have been very uncomfortable.

The mouse is very accurate. You don't need to worry about the surface cause it's laser. You don't need a mouse pad at all.

Best of all is the power. The battery life is outstanding. Part of the reason is that you can tuck that little usb receiver right into the mouse! That turns off the power of the mouse so that you don't have any chance of losing more battery power if it's moving around on your desk or in a backpack. Also, being able to tuck in that receiver into the mouse ensures you'll never lose it and can retrieve it quickly by just clicking a button on the bottom of the mouse which pops out the receiver....that is SO NICE!

Did I mention the SetPont Software?!?! Well, usually I just throw the CD away. However I found that the functions on this are amazing. You install SetPoint and just like the past, your scroll is a button if you push down on it, and there are several other buttons on this mouse but the beauty is that they actually built efficient and useful software to go along this time. This time it is really worth using the software for the mouse because you can do cool things such as click the middle scroll and get a list of recently opened programs or whatever else you want these buttons to do. It's highly configurable and I'm pretty impressed at how useful this software is. I've never found Logitech software useful in the past for mice until now. They are getting to be pretty good software developers and this is great to use now to make tasks quicker.
