| sage750's Full Review: Ranger R71 |
I have been an avid fisherman for over 50 years and have owned 4 bass boats prior to owning the Ranger R71. All boats prior to this one have been in the 18 ft range with 150 hp engines. I downsized to a 17 ft boat and this is equipped with a 125 hp Merc. While this is not Ranger's top of the line boat, it outperformes any of the other boats I have owned. (Terry, Hydra-Sport, G-3, and Nitro) Handling, storage, fit and finish, fishability, cost to operate, speed, customer service, and value are all exceptional. I love being able to launch it from un-improved ramps to fish smaller lakes that have less fishing pressure put on them while still being able to fish in comfort and safety on larger lakes. It is the perfect multi-use boat.
