When you go to the website for The Flower Club Online Store there is a new message explaining how the deliveries for the New York area are being handled in the wake of the World Trade Center disaster.
There are five choices in navigating the site to view the displays that are available. The first option would be express ordering where you can choose between custom, roses or plants. The custom arrangements are done according to the price indicated from $29.99 – $99.99. For roses you can pick a half dozen for $34.99 or a dozen at $54.99, which includes fresh greens and a vase. There are also several displays of roses to choose in this category.
If you are interested in obtaining frequent flyer miles when purchasing through The Flower Club Online Store click the yellow banner in the top right hand corner to learn how to earn from 350- 750. The carriers consist of Alaska, America West, British Airways, Continental, Hawaiian, Midwest, Northwest, TWA and US Airways.
Since I have not flown in the last five years I looked around but did not pursue this option. The miles start at 300 and for each price range they go up a hundred in miles. With a $85.00 purchase with The Flower Club Online Store you would earn 900 miles on your Continental Fast Pass.
The next option you have available is the occasion for the gifts, plants or flowers with help in deciding what would be suitable in business, housewarming, get well, anniversary, baby, just because, sports baskets and sympathy categories. I found my selections when perusing the exotics, front page, business and best sellers categories.
Just this week I placed my third order with The Flower Club Online Store using my account information with my own password for access to my delivery addresses and billing information. I also have at my disposal the listings of my other deliveries and can see the date and information expressed in the card. I utilized the reminders’ page to input pertinent birthdays with the date I want to be emailed my reminder. There is a calendar for the years 2000-2002 to view what holiday falls in which month to prepare your deliveries ahead of schedule.
If you prefer not to use the secured site you can place your order toll free twenty- four hours a day by calling 1-800-800-SEND. The customer service number I have used at 1-800-822-9458 is open from 7 am – 8 pm Central time and Saturdays from 8 am – 5pm. This is the number you would call for finding out the status of a delivery. You can always email them at customerservice@flowerclub.com. The international orders would have to be placed at the other phone number and not the website. There is a $15.00 wire transmission fee plus $9.95 service and not including all applicable taxes, etc. The gift baskets are only available in the United States. Within a fifteen-minute time frame I have received an email confirmation on my online orders.
The other choice at the home page is to search under price ranges with the remaining choices to look under specified product codes or choose basket types such as gift, gourmet food, sports or other examples. I have used the product code search option the most in the recent month, as I like to look around at ones I have thought about sending in the future.
Once you have made your pick on what to send from The Flower Club Online Store you proceed to checkout where you can create your account for added convenience and input the address your recipient will receive the delivery. For my order I was happy to be able to have one arrangement sent to a business address with the other one to the residence where I was able to leave instructions on the time frame for delivery on Friday night otherwise when to deliver the following Saturday.
The Flower Club Online Store delivers on Saturdays but not Sundays. The order needs to be placed before noon in the time zone the recipient is located otherwise the next business day. They cannot guarantee the exact time of delivery, but I have placed a call and waited while customer service contacted the local florist and informed me the delivery personnel were on their way, which was confirmed when the recipient received the flowers not too long thereafter.
I also gave the recipient the phone number while we were chatting once to confirm the order was going to make it to his office that afternoon and they gave him the information with no problem. I had another question but he had ended the phone call already so promptly called back to have a customer service agent not as helpful as the first and then the wait was very long on hold.
I enjoyed waiting for Lee to get his deliveries and then giving him the product code so he could tell me how the arrangement compared to the version listed at The Flower Club Online Store. From what I can tell he has been pleased with the arrangements. At the present time he has the Desert Dew on his desk from last month plus the More than Roses that arrived earlier this week.
Along with your order of baskets, fruit, coffee, plants, roses or flowers there is the option for other enhancements to your order. You can click on for more information and when there is a price range underneath the arrangement this means you can upgrade the size of this display for another ten to twenty dollars.
The picture displayed on site is the actual size with the next upgrade being deluxe and then the premium choice. The added touches for your delivery include the following:
2 Latex balloons for $4.99
Box of chocolates from $9.99 - $29.99
Mylar Balloon from $9.99 - $29.99
Stuffed Animal from $14.99 - $29.99
Talking Bouquet Gift Message $4.99
There is a transmission fee $6.95, sales tax under $4.00, but the site states that sales tax is collected in Florida at 7% and Oklahoma 8% and I assumed these were the only states but I must of understood that wrong.
They accept all the major credit cards including Diners Club, American Express and the following:
Bloomingdales
British Petroleum
Macys
Newport News
Victoria’s Secret
Shell
Dress Barn
Fashion Bug
Chadwick’s of Boston
Pier 1
Limited
Lerner New York
Lane Bryant
Dress Barn
Exxon
This is the best reason for using The Flower Club Online Store in my opinion due to the many options in paying for this service. I first learned of The Flower Club from a flyer inside my Newport News bill advertising for Mother’s Day arrangements. The order I placed with The Flower Club Online Store was earlier this summer when another member, ladycynic, delivered her daughter. I went to the site that Saturday afternoon wanting the flowers and box of chocolates sent as soon as possible.
I found out the following Tuesday when Rene was discharged that the delivery never arrived. Once I received this order on my charge I contacted the toll free number of 1-800-822-9548 to have a confirmation of this order being delivered. I received a few phone inquiries as to the status of this order and will be receiving a credit on the next statement.
I decided to give The Flower Club Online Store another try but this time on a local level. I went to the site on a Friday morning and placed my order to be sent to two addresses to the same recipient but on alternate days. This was handled as requested but I was charged for two transmission fees which I was hoping not to be. I had thought about placing my order on the phone but noticed The Flower Club Online Store lists the fee for orders placed this way is $9.95 per item charge but states the order charge is $6.95 on the site.
When placing an order for one of the gift baskets please note these are shipped via UPS ground service taking anywhere from two to seven business days. These orders need to be placed by 1 PM Eastern time to get there in a timely fashion. I also ordered Daringly Different, which is now listed under Summer’s Best. I had two choices in mind to try to pick from this week when placing my order and showed my six-year old son for the deciding one. He chose the More than Roses assortment since he liked the colors and thought the other two were boring.
There are many choices at The Flower Club Online Store for sending flowers to guys as well as ladies, colleagues or acquaintances. It is nice to brighten someone’s day with a friendly reminder of your affections.
