Amazon.com is a great place to shop. For several years, it has been one of my favorite internet shopping destinations. When shopping at Amazon, the best deals are found when purchasing through amazon.com market place rather than a merchant that sells through Amazon. Most of the time, with a $25 purchase, you get free shipping by purchasing directly from Amazon. And, depending on state law where you live, you don't have to pay any sales tax.
I've purchased so may different things from Amazon including a Hoover carpet cleaner and vacuum cleaner, dishes for my wife, kitchen appliances, cameras, printers, dvds, books, etc. The purchasing process is simple, and shipping is handled in a timely manner. They try to get you to upgrade your shipping option, but if you can afford a few extra days, the free shipping option is a better deal. I did have one order that seemed to take a long time to process, but many other orders have been shipped within a reasonable time.
It always pays to do some comparison shopping, which is so easy with computer internet shopping. Amazon isn't always the cheapest, but they are competitive. Quite often, the free shipping is a deal breaker. By getting an Amazon Chase Visa credit card, I've also benefited by getting a couple of $25 vouchers for purchases. You know the routine....for each purchase, you get a certain amount of points that translate in to $$.
I haven't had to deal with Amazon customer service, but everything I've read indicates that they are pretty good. Sure, I've read comments from a few disgruntled customers....but they seem to be few and far between.
The customer reviews provided on the web site are another nice feature. Although the normal trend is that purchasers are usually happy with their purchase, you do find instances where there are a lot of unhappy customers that tell you why they're giving a negative review.
So, I'm a happy Amazon.com customer and recommend this site without reservation. As always...be a smart shopper and do your homework first.
