Young and Eager to Please. Or: Chilean Cabernet clobbers California Reserve

Concha y Toro "Don Melchor" Cabernet Sauvignon 2000 -- Rated "94" by Wine Spectator Magazine. About $30 per bottle, plus tax. Confidently recommended.

Hi Tom,
Loved the review. IŽll take a crack at finding this one locally. I tried to track down one you wrote about in the past and hit a dead end. Hopefully the bottle it the same here and distribute it generously. The best stuff, most products, is usually exported, though our strawberries are huge and sweet. Not the case with grapes. Crazy.

The days of wine and roses... I remember them well. At least I still enjoy roses these days. Thanks for the listing of Chilean wines. I suppose they would make lovely gifts for dinner hosts.

I never ceased to be pleased by the quality of some of the Chilean wines I get (though I often try to branch away from the Concha y Toro --- too ubiquitous, donchaknow).

Good to see you posting some new stuff...the wine section just hasn't been the same without ya!

Salud!
