Big screens and heavy machines make for sore necks and shoulders, even when you don't carry it with you.

A very good and detailed observation from someone(lawman67) who knows. I have owned numerous Toshiba and IBM laptops, and I always stay with the lightest ones with the best drive/size combo's. Even a short commute with a 7 or 8 pound monster makes my trip uncomfortable. Thanks lawman67 for telling it like it is.

Although I agree with your definition of a desktop replacement (Reply to this comment)

The marketplace has defined the catagory "desktop replacement" and has made it such a buzz word that novices in the notebook buying will be more confused when hearing any notebook can potentially be a "desktop replacement".

It may be easier to tell prospective buyers to purchase a notebook that fills their needs than act as a so called "desktop replacement".

Besides, I've always hated the Desktop Replacement catagory... the term was only really good for the first 6 months it was used anyway.
