Pros: Canyon capacity, nice blue color, high spin speed, lots of cleaning choices.
Cons: Broke in 16 months, expensive, lots of down time for repairs.
The Bottom Line: I would pass on ever buying a high end washer/dryer again. The electronics are so unreliable, and very costly to repair. Buy the warranty!!

| kathymcd's Full Review: Kenmore Oasis¿ HE 27087 Stainless Steel Top Load W... |
A beautiful machine -- from the outside...a nightmare on the inside. We splurged and bought this top of the line washing machine in a beautiful blue color, had the glass lid, all digital display, etc...I was wowed by it. Here's a few of the specs that sold me on the machine:
Energy Star®
Uses 47% less water and 53% less energy per load compared to conventional washers
Catalyst cleaning action saturates clothes faster and more thoroughly
18 cycles, automatic water levels
5 wash/rinse temperatures (3 automatic)
Delay wash up to 12 hrs.
Colors:
Black Diamond (26-27086)
Pacific Blue (26-27087)
Power: 120V, AC, 60Hz
Size: 42"H x 27½"W x 27"D
16 months after we purchased it (and the warranty was up at 1 year so no warranty) my machine without warning died -- it had no power whatsoever! I called the Sears repair center, 3 days later and a $70 service call, he test it and says it needs a new control board. Hope you are sitting, parts and labor $395. Ok, suck it up, order the part...10 days later part arrives and repair man returns, another $70 service fee, part doesn't fix the problem, still no power. Next try, order a new interface, this should fix it...good news, only another 10 days with a washer. I'll update in another 10 days to let you know if this fixes it, the price of the repair went down $20, however add another service call, and, well, you get the picture.
To top this off, my Oasis dryer has also decided to join it's partner in crime, it too died and I was told same thing, needs a new board, he brought the board, didn't fix it!! This was a $300 repair so far.
To date I have neither a working washer or dryer. I paid around $2000 for the pair 16 months ago.
On a positive note, the washer is huge and holds 14 towels or pairs of jeans, a full set of sheets plus the comforter, etc. I love the way it washes and it spins the cloths super fast so they are very wrung out and dry in about 1/2 the normal time of my previous dryer.
UPDATE -- We'll after 3.5 weeks with no washer/dryer my repairs are completed. Total cost to fix: $696. I did call Sears and they helped out with over 1/2 of it. I am still unimpressed with such an expensive unit breaking down so quickly.
