False information on website along with rude & uncaring customer service.

Placed order for Staub "La Theiere" Round Teapot on Dec 12, 2007 for delivery before Christmas, as this item was being ordered as a gift. Chose to buy from this website because price was better (by about $10) than the next lowest priced site and because website claimed they had all colors and styles in stock for immediate delivery. Today, December 18, 2007 (Tuesday) I receive a voicemail at home from Laura at Kitchen Clique stating that the product is not in stock, that they cannot get it before Christmas & that I should call her back on their 800# to advise if I want to cancel the order or not. I called their 800# at about 2:20pm and spoke with Barbara. Barbara was short & rude on the phone. I asked for Laura, and Barbara stated that I would have to call back tomorrow since Laura was gone for the day. She did not offer to assist me in any way. When I asked if she could help me in Laura's place, she said something like, "I don't know since I have about 5 other calls on hold." She then asked me to hold a minute. When she returned to the phone I heard her say "jerk," and then she told me that they only had grey or square teapots on hand & I could get one of those or I could cancel my order. I don't know if she was calling me a jerk or if she was speaking to someone at her office just as she picked up the phone from hold, but either way, she was rude and very unhelpful. Since it was clear that she didn't care about my order one way or the other, I asked her to cancel my order. She was extremely unpleasant to deal with. I will not be shopping this store again, and I certainly don't recommend them to anyone else.
