Wireless Keyboard that just works
I have 2 computers in my room. One I use 99% of the time. The other I boot up to do additional testing of beta programs for MS. Actually I beta test on my Main PC also but for additional information I use the other. Both run Vista, one(Main PC) runs Vista Ultimate/XP Pro and the other runs Vista Home Premium. My granddaughter's use my secondary computer when their other 2 PC's are being used by their sisters. Their 2 PC's run XP Pro SP2 but they all like when they can get on my secondary PC.
For a long time only one of my computers had a wireless keyboard/mouse. Last month(November of 2007) I was at Walmart when I spotted this wireless keyboard. It was on sale for between $30 to $35 dollars and since I needed a new keyboard/mouse,you would be surprised how fast girls can mess them up.
Packaging
It was packaged in a nicely designed cardboard and plastic box. It contained a CD with software for 98SE/Me/2000/XP/Vista. A small USB receiver(smaller than a flash drive) also the keyboard/mouse. I was surprised at how thin the keyboard is. 1/2"x17 1/2"x6 1/2". It has all the usual keys plus a Mute, Volume Down/Up, Pause/Play, Media Player, Home, eMail, Sleep and Calculator buttons.
The mouse is small at only 2 1/4"x5" but even with my big hands, very comfortable and easy to use. There are actually 5 buttons, the regular 2 on top plus the wheel button all are setup as default(as on most mice) plus 2 buttons on the side that can be setup for a variety of differant commands-the default is forward/back, both of which I love as I don't have to go to the top of IE/computer to go back or forward.
Now I have used this keyboard/mouse combination with the included batteries with no problems. Laptop owners will love this as it is thin and light weight plus will fit in most laptop bags using very little space. Plus when first installing the batteries the keyboard/mouse will work without even syncing them to the reciever. In fact neither keyboard/mouse or reciever have a sync button. This combination works for a good distance(6+ft). This is the best Wireless Keyboard/mouse I have used.
Batteries used in last 4 months
I have used this Keyboard/Mouse for the last4 months and they batteries still have high voltage(Have battery tester) so this may last another 4 months or more. My computer is in constant use 7 days a week for 10hours + every day.
