SOME SONG LYRICS

FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the empty skies, my love,
To the dark and the empty skies.

The first time ever I kissed your mouth
And felt your heart beat close to mine
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command, my love
That was there at my command.

And the first time ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy would fill the earth
And last till the end of time my love
It would last till the end of time my love

KILLING ME SOFTLY WITH HIS SONG

Strumming my pain with his fingers,
singing my life with his words,
killing me softly with his song,
killing me softly with his song,
telling my whole life with his words,
killing me softly with his song

I heard he sang a good song, I heard he had a style.
And so I came to see him to listen for a while.
And there he was this young boy, a stranger to my eyes.

I felt all flushed with fever, embarrassed by the crowd,
I felt he found my letters and read each one out loud.
I prayed that he would finish but he just kept right on.

He sang as if he knew me in all my dark despair
and then he looked right through me as if I wasn't there.
But he just came to singing, singing clear and strong

WHERE IS THE LOVE
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love
Where is the love

Where is the love
You said you'd give to me
soon as you were free
will it ever be
Where is the love?

You told me that you didn't love him,
and you were gonna say goodbye
but if you really didn't mean it,
why did you have to lie?

Where is the love,
you said was mine all mine, till the end of time
was it just a lie
where is the love

If you had had a sudden change of heart
I wish that you would tell me so
don't leave me hangin on the promises
you've got to let me know

Oh how I wish I never met you
I guess it must have been my fate
to fall in love with someone else's love
all I can do is wait

JAGUARDOG’S FINAL THOUGHTS

This great young lady singer has been called classy, reserved, smooth and sophisticated. She did have her share of great smooth-jazz hit records. Her music was calm, gentle, intimate, lush, mellow, peaceful, poignant, refined, reserved, romantic, sensual, sentimental, sexy, soothing, sophisticated, stylish, sweet and warm. I must admit that I really enjoyed her music for many years and even though I only owned 3 of her singles at one time this is the only album/CD I have ever owned by her that I purchased in December of last year. I also must admit that this CD is missing a few of her better known hits and I would have liked to have “Jesse” and “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’” on it as well. That’s all I have for this week and I hope you enjoyed it some? Thanks for reading and rating and leaving a comment if you have time. Up next Friday I will be covering a very well known and very popular group that formed as a British blues band in 1967 and only had one #1 hit with the song “Dreams” and that is “Fleetwood Mac”. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend and God Bless you all.
