| susiewho's Full Review: Downy Wrinkle Releaser All Scents |
Downy Wrinkle Releaser comes in a smallish 16.9 ounce, pearl white bottle with a spray pump. It comes in 2 different scents. Vibrant Fresh and Light Fresh. I've only used the Light Fresh Scent. It's a very clean, fresh scent. You can purchase Downy products at any grocery or drug store as well as Target, K Mart and Wal Mart. It costs about $4.00-$5.00. The travel size bottle is 4 ounces for $1.47. This is a great size for travel rather than packing a travel iron.
I have also sprayed this right on a garment as I was wearing it. I had no time to take it off and start ironing and it worked like a charm. This product is a real life saver. I would love a huge dispenser of Downey Wrinkle Releaser. Years ago I purchased a product like this for about $8.00 for a tiny spray can of wrinkle remover, this is a bargain and a time saver as well as a blessing when you're in a rush..
Directions: Spray 8 inches away from your item of clothing. Smooth your item and hang to dry. Spray fabrics in a sweeping motion until it is slightly damp, and use more spray for heavier fabrics and tougher wrinkles. For a "pressed look" use while ironing.
I use this both on garments just out of the dryer and items left in the closet too tightly pressed together. It works within a few minutes almost like magic! It doesn't give you that fresh from the cleaners starched pressed look but it certainly does get those wrinkles out. You can get away without ironing the item unless you're a real neat freak. I certainly wouldn't recommend ditching your iron though. It is a wonderful way to avoid ironing when in a rush or when away on vacation and unpacking things that got a bit crunched in your suitcase.
Another little plus is you can use this while ironing to get those wrinkles out with just a touch up of the iron.
When you buy curtains to hang and take them out of the package they often have the creases from the packaging in them. Hang them up and spray them with Downy Wrinkle Releaser and no more wrinkles!
Downy also claims that the product is safe on most fabrics but you should still test on fabrics such as silk or rayon that might get water-spots.
My husband actually was the first to use this since he has to take care of his own laundering when we're apart. He lives in Florida half the year. He is a super handy guy and will iron in a heart beat but he found Downy Wrinkle Releaser and now he doesn't have to. I think it was a great discovery. It works like a charm. It's extremely easy to use and eliminates the need to iron many items. His shirts and pants look terrific. Now, when I'm down here in Florida with him I use the product if I can to avoid ironing. Even if I forget to take his shirts or pants out of the dryer when I'm in charge of the laundry this little spray saves the day.
