Last summer, it was pretty hot. It only rained one day all summer and even then, it wasn't much. Seriously, we are in a drought. I made pitchers and pitchers of pink lemonade and we sat out on the front porch many afternoons to read, drink pink lemonade and sit in front of a fan. I could have stayed inside in the air conditioning but kids need to be outside.
So, when I was taking yet another trip to Nordstrom to get my daughter a new pair of shoes, the Philosophy counter which is conveniently very close to children's shoes caught my eye with a large display of Pink Lemonade products. This scent was supposedly a Nordstrom exclusive but I've seen it on Philosophy's website and was even able to order a bottle there for a gift for a friend (the same one who gifts me with Boxes O LUSH).
Ordinarily, I wouldn't order this particular 3-in-1 for my friend. You see, I find the scent rather subpar because I have trouble detecting anything from the bottle or in the shower. For $1 an ounce, I want to smell my shower gel! But, my friend was having problems with her allergies and I thought that perhaps this product with its very subtle scent might be nice and it was great for her. Score 1 - me.
Philosophy's Pink Lemonade is a 3-in-1 which means you should be able to use it as a shampoo, a body wash and a bubble bath. Don't believe the hype. In a pinch, you could use it as all three but you shouldn't. As a shampoo, it is very drying and you'll end up with a mess of tangles. It takes a lot of product (at $1 an ounce) to make bubbles and they are not remarkable. But, as a body wash, the product does a fantastic job of creating gigantic amounts of lovely white bubbles from the pink gel. I find it rinses cleanly and doesn't dry out or irritate my sensitive skin.
When you can smell the product, it is a lovely match for fresh lemonade with sugar mixed in. It's no furniture polish or floor wax scent. I find it almost identical to 100% Pure Fresh Squeezed Strawberry Lemonade Juicy Shower Gel except that product has a stronger scent which means you don't have to struggle to detect it. It's also practically the same as Philosophy's Lemonade scent.
If you like Philosophy and like lemonade, this may be a good shower gel for you. I usually find myself bypassing this one and going for something with a little more "flavor" to it.
