Why not Godfather and Apocalypse Now? (Reply to this comment)
by framinghanley
To leave Godfather and Apocalypse Now off Marlon Brando's greatest movies list is to discredit his acting diversity. The Godfather may have been very long, but it really shows Marlon Brando as large and in charge. And although his role in Apocalypse Now was small, his was the role upon which the movie was based. Without his incredible portrayal of Kurtz, the ending could've been very poor. But he made the ending what it was. His ability to assume many different roles is what made him such a phenomenal actor.

Whoa! The Godfather bored me too, and Apocalypse Now just confused me, so i pretty much assumed i'd never get the hype about Brando. He starred in Guys and Dolls? I've actually heard (and seen) him sing? Wow... that's playing against type. He did great; he shoulda done musicals more often. As Old Deuteronomy in Cats, say: his reclusiveness would've fit the role, and he'd've been something special.
cheers,

Well, a person's sexy when they feel sexy and Brando is feeling it! His eyes are intense, not creepy, to me.

Thanks. I would still recommend it, but just not as a favorite.

Marlon Brando sexy? (Reply to this comment)

Brando was a fine actor, but I can't bring myself to like either his looks or his creepy personality. Maybe I'll change my mind in my next life as a woman.

Even with the exclusion of The Godfather, it's a great list.
