I wanted to make something for my child recently and it needed some fabric like felt and fuzzy yarn. I was also looking for fabric glue. I had shopped other online store like Fabric.com, they too had something for craft such as glue, iron-on velcro etc, but not yarns, so I gave up to shop with Fabric.com this time, and visited JoAnn.com instead.
I've visited Jo Ann offline store, it's okey, but store is always with many people and each aisles are narrow to walk, and the store is kind of dark, honestly not fun to look around entire the store. I don't even know what really they carry offline store 'cause I really have never looked through the store. But via Online, I don't get bump other people, and can see what they carry without walking narrow spaces, I don't even need to complain the lighting of the store, so I checked it out, (don't forget to check online coupon code before visiting, you may find free shipping coupon or 40% off for one item coupon, you can find those coupon at coupon web site or sometimes Jo Ann.com store front also. I'd obtained free shipping coupon for any order before visiting JoAnn.com).
I worried if Jo Ann.com carried everything I was looking for, and yes, it had! and yet all material I was looking for were a lot cheaper than I expected. fuzzy yarns had several choices (different brand, price, materials like wool, acrylic, nylon etc), and I found trendy -look one only at $2.33 per roll(?) then felt! I found economy pack for craft. this pack has approx 1 pound (approx 25 sheets or more),and each felt is about magazine size (9x12) and in many colors some seem to have sticky side at back, not sure 'cause I have not opened them, but those felt has backing paper like stickers, the bag says this felt pack is for craft and scrap book, so I think it's sticky back, you can cut shapes you want and peel packing paper then stick it on photo album or something instantly. And this felt pack was only $1.49!!!!!!! (I expected this price was for per sheet, not for 25 sheets, 1 pound! Fabric glue was $2.49 or so. I found everything I needed in one store and price was a lot cheaper than I expected, and yet I had free shipping coupon for any order, (no minimum order required), so the total was only for merchandise and tax. same as I shop at offline JoAnn in my state. (probably better than offline other than you had to wait for days for delivery, unless you need craft /sewing supplies right away, buying online is probably better, 'cause even if you go to offline store and find same items I bought online at the same price, you still had to pay for your transportation fee (gas or bus/train fare), and probably no guarantee that offline store carries the same merchandise as their online store does, if they do not carry or sold out, you have to visit the store again ( another transportation fee is needed).
I've checked prices of other items I was interested on JoAnn.com, such as iron-on transfer paper, blank T-shirts, bags, etc.. they were cheaper than other stores even on Ebay (I don't believe buying at Ebay is always the best deal, nobody on Ebay selling felt pack at $1.49 actually for example, even if someone did, you have to pay for S&H, so total cost you'll pay is more than $1.49 +tax). I placed order in the Thanks giving weekend, so order processing and delivery seemed to have been delayed than usual, it took 8-9 days that actual package arrived to me(from order date).
I sure will visit the store (online I mean) again. it was fun.
