Sicko is an entertaining and maddening look at how dysfunctional our health care system has become. Michael Moore, once again, uses his own style to make a documentary that people will actually want to watch (not an easy feat in America). Because this is a documentary, I did not expect him to propose any ways to change the system, he's documenting the inadequacies. I have met people from all over the political spectrum who walked out of this film steaming mad.. not at Moore, but at the system that is letting us down. The US spends more money on health care, and yet has 47+ million uninsured citizens, and those with coverage are often underinsured, going without proper care, or going into bankruptcy to cover the cost of care. Moore participatory documentary style is not for everyone, if you sit down to watch Sicko expecting a straight documentary. When people in the most advanced country in the world have to hold bake sales and car washes to help pay for cancer treatments, then I'm grateful for films like Sicko to get people talking about it.
