Since we live in a small town, and it was our 39th anniversary, I decided to order from gourmetstation.com which is also a part of Delightful Deliveries.
I would not recommend using them. Dinner with shipping was $119, and unlike the website says "chef inspired" that means it is frozen and comes from outsourced kitchens. I would have had no complaint if I had received what I was paying for.......but a TV dinner is a different story.
When I wrote to the owner, who happened to take my order, she never said anything about that, and I will attach her nasty email. If you visit the website for gourmetstation.com you will never guess that the food is not freshly prepared at their location. Please remember the Delightful Deliveries is one in the same, just offers more gift baskets etc but does sell the food as their are owned and operated by the same people. You can easily google and find the SEC filing for this "company"
So what do you get for that much money?
1. One round Boule
2. Soup for two
3. Entree for two
4. Spinach (it was supposed to be mixed veggies
5. NY Cheesecake which tasted like it came out of a jello package. (we threw it away)
It was not Gourmet food in the slightest, and I wrote her a nice email, and her response was
Dear XXXXX, Thanks for your feedback on the dinners you ordered from GourmetStation. We are sorry for your disappointment and wanted to clarify a couple of things. Our food is out sourced to niche food service manufacturers that make upscale entrees, soup, desserts, etc. for the food service industry. Many upscale restaurants and fine hotels use the same source of supply as GourmetStation especially for complex items like en Croutes. Some preservatives are necessary to protect shelf life and product integrity through the supply chain. All our competitors use the same supply strategy(Impromptu Gourmet & Artico Chef) except for Home Bistro. Home Bistro manufacturers their own products (proteins) via the sous vide method slow cook inside a plastic pouch. We have sampled their products and they also use preservatives. Preservatives are a necessary part of the supplychain for retail and foodservice. If you wish preservative free food your best bet is to purchase locally from a farmers market and prepare yourself from base ingredients. In so far as your request for refund, we fulfilled our end of the transaction and UPS delivered on time. A refund will not be issued
On a personal note (and I do not intend to be mean spirited) but my conversation with you last Thursday made me quite uncomfortable. Your negativity about the holiday season criticism all the work going on about the barbeque experience it was all unsettling. When I received your email, honestly I was notsurprised....more negativity. There was no reason for the email to be scathing and a frontal assault on our company and our food
no reason atall. You are obviously a very unhappy and angry woman. I say this not injudgment but in hopes that you will find peace in this New Year. We are all brothers and sisters under God and there is no opportunity to further the human condition if we treat each other with hatred and anger. May you find peace.

I normally would not put the personal part on a public forum, but no one in their right mind would be so insulting. It is ironic that we had a pleasant conversation when I placed my order, and she was complaining about all the work associated with Christmas. Funny that they don't even fix their own food.
Finally the "person" that writes the blog is a fake. You can find that information all over the internet.
Fake food, fake chefs, etc, etc, etc. Save your money.
