Pros: Good acting. Great story line.
Cons: not for young children (I would say not for under 5-7 group).
The Bottom Line: I give this a HUGE thumbs up! It was fun, romantic, and funny!

When I first saw the previews for this movie, i did not think I would like it. It looked like the same old movies out these days. Magic and mysticism, good vs. evil, blah blah blah. However, after renting the movie, I have decided to purchase my own copy. It was MUCH better than I had anticipated it would be!
The acting in this film is spot on. I enjoyed Claire Danes as the "star." I did not think she could pull it off honestly (claire danes . . . blond hair???), but it was brilliant. She truly shined! The other characters were well done, and it was a brilliant cast.
It was both funny and romantic, making it a good film for both genders! My husband enjoyed the movie as much as I did! I think that older children would enjoy it as well. It is NOT for younger children, as there are many scary moments that would scare a young child.
Overall, I think that this movie transcends, age, gender, etc. It is truly a movie for everyone. It reminded me of The Princess Bride, and has many echoes of that film. Feel confident about renting this movie for a date night or to curl up and enjoy by yourself.
