Why I am voting for Bush

The Bottom Line I am voting for the person that I feel best glorifies God in his actions.

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by. I know that there are a lot of thoughts floating around concerning the upcoming election. I realize that some take it more seriously than others.

I simply commented on another political epinion, and I ended up with so much to say in my comment, that I decided to write this article. This article clearly states my views of God and Scripture. I don't expect everyone to agree, but I hope you enjoy my thoughts. I have not written to offend anyone personally by what I say. I hope that you enjoy reading this. If you read it and would like to add your comments, please do. I have found most people to be very polite on epinions. I do ask, that you take into consideration that these thoughts are my personal thoughts and I don't push them on anyone. However, if they help even one person...then praise God!

First things first, I am not a huge political junkie. I don't claim to know everything about each person running for president, I don't know all the statistics, I don't know how they each truly think on every issue. I don't know either of their true hearts, but I do know one thing for sure, one thing that will never come back void, one thing that I always can trust!

I am not voting only for the person who I think meets every 'personal' feeling of the american body. I do believe those things are helpful, but that's not the most important thing that I am voting for. I have one main criteria that pre-exists any reason why I am voting for the person that I am voting for.

MY MAIN CRITERIA ON VOTING:
I am voting for the candidate who seems to most glorify God accordingly to Scripture!

I realize this is not the main reason to vote for many people. Well, I am not responsible to 'most people.' I am responsible to God. I want to obey the government, but the most important person in my life is God! I want to glorify God to the best of my ability, and I am voting for who I believe will best glorify God in his actions.

I am voting for Bush this year. I believe, accordingly to what I understand him to say, that he best desires God's word to be applied to his life and to his actions (speaking about his thoughts towards abortion, a.k.a. murder; accordingly to Scripture)and his reliance upon God.

I realize that I don't know much about politics, but I do know some things about the Bible. I will put my vote on a person who most exemplifies what the Bible teaches. Since I am voting for Bush, I realize that he may do some things that I don't personally agree with and I know that he is going to make mistakes. However, if someone truly believes in God, which I believe Bush does, then I believe that he is most likely to base his decisions accordingly to what God says in Scripture. Now, I realize that not every political topic is found in Scripture, but I do know that every topic ultimately comes back to subjects that the Bible teaches. For example, if a decision is being made concerning abortion, we may not find the word 'abortion' in scripture, but we can look and see what the Bible says about death, life, murder, and so on. The word 'abortion' may not be in the Bible, but topics that abortion concerns, are found in scripture and we can use those biblical topics to discern what the biblical view of abortion is.

I would rather a president make a decision that agrees with Scipture that is 'seemingly' bad decision for another political group, then for a president who acts only what the people want. The reason is that God has given us the Bible to study and apply to our lives. God calls us to live accordingly to Scripture, not man's thoughts. God blesses those who live accordingly to His word. So, if a decision is made accordingly to Scripture, then I believe that that decision is the one to be made and believe that God will bless the person who lives accordingly to Scripture.

Now:

The Bible teaches that God is sovereign (He is in control of everything). If God is control of everything, then He ultimately puts into power whom He chooses. Yes, He has given us the opportunity to vote, and I plan on doing so. I believe God uses our voting as 'a way' of fulfilling His will. I believe that we all are blessed with the freedom of voting, but I also believe that He is still in control no matter what our vote is. I further believe that God will not be surprised at who wins the election. Again, I believe that the voting process is a tool that God uses to bring His will into action. He does not need us to vote, instead, He has chosen to allow us to vote. He could easily put someone into power by some other means. God is the creator of the entire universe, humans are not going to vote someone into power and mess God's plan up! No, God is in complete control.

And,
Just because I believe that Bush is the most biblical person, does not mean that God will put that person into power, but that is my person that I choose to vote for. If God chooses not to put Mr. Bush into power, then I can still lay my head down with peace at night. I can be at peace with God, because God is in ultimate control. He will put the person into power that He has already providentially put into that position.

If a person who does not believe in the Scriptures is put into power, God will still use that person to accomplish His will, because He is sovereign! So, whoever wins, I don't have to worry about it. I believe that even if a huge economy failure happens, I believe that it only happens because God wanted it to happen for his sovereign plan to be fulfulled...even if we don't humanly think it makes sense.

I have based my thoughts and beliefs accordingly to Scripture. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but I hope that you enjoy my thoughts. Thanks so much for reading!

Again, thanks for reading,
