I paid close to $300 for mine. I had two other Hoovers which worked perfectly and lasted a long time. However, this expensive one worked beautifully for about 6 months then on and off the beater bar would not rotate. Belts wore out excessively fast. After a year we had the self-propel switch replaced but they must of missed the the crack in the beater bar bracket because that is now broken.
