Pros: Easy to play for less-experienced gamers, overall fun gameplay
Cons: Dated songs, limited song choice
The Bottom Line: Donkey Konga 2 is fun for the experienced and inexperienced gamer, especially if you're playing with more than one player in competitive or cooperative mode.

I will be the first to admit that I am not the most coordinated video game player. My hand-eye coordination just isn't what it could be to really excel at popular games like Halo or Gears of War. Knowing this, my boyfriend (a self-proclaimed "gamer") bought Donkey Konga 2, thinking it would be a game that we could both play without him completely kicking my butt. He was right!
It was a fun game for both of us, and since it uses rather non-traditional game play, we could compete on a more equal level than with other games. Instead of the traditional controller, Donkey Konga 2 uses bongo controllers. You hit each bongo according to symbols the game gives you. The symbols coordinate with sounds in the drum lines of different songs.
The songs are a little dated by now (the game was released in 2005), but are still tunes that are recognizable to most people. Songs include "Allstar" by Smash Mouth, "Headstrong" by Trapt, "The Anthem" by Good Charlotte, and "Unpretty" by TLC.
The game allows you to play solo or with other people. When you're playing with more than one person, you can compete against each other or cooperate in a team. This is a nice option, as a lot of games only let you compete against each other. Since my boyfriend does usually beat me at video games, it's nice that we can play in team mode and both win
(or lose!)
Overall, this is a very fun game. It can get a little old once you've played all the songs, and you run the risk of upsetting the neighbors if you play too loud, but it allows for unique, easy-to-learn game play that makes for a good time, even for non-gamers.
