Mythology of the Times

Written: Sep 23 '01 (Updated Sep 23 '01)
Pros:This is a great book on all kind of mythology.
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: As complete a book on Mythology I have seen.

BULFINCH’S MYTHOLOGY is a book with 872 pages of stories of the gods and heroes. If you are into mythology this is a great addition to the collection. There are stories of the age of fables, age of chivalry, and legends of Charlemagne all collected in this one book.

To just name a few of the well know and maybe not so well known names. They some of these and see if you can place them Pandora, Apollo, Pyramus, Juno, Latona, Midas, Scylla, Iphis, Cupid, Minerva, Hercules, etc. Even my spell check didn’t know some of them.

Some of the stories are about the monsters in legends like giants, sphinx, Pegasus, and Centaurs to name a few. There are all types of mythology mixed into this book. For instance there is Eastern, Northern, Hindu, Viking, Buddha, Elves, and druid.

Then you have great stories of King Arthur and his knights. Many of these stories we are somewhat familiar with and as many that we are not familiar with. There are tales of Mabinogeon, and British tales of Robin Hood and Beowulf. The tales of Charlemagne are many.

If you are studying mythology in school or an enthusiast this book has more heroes then any book I know.
