I rented this movie the other evening after seeing the previews and laughing at them. This movie is directed in the style of Napoleon Dynamite but there can only be one Napoleon. It was boring and awkward for almost the entire way through. Yes, there are some funny parts BUT most if not all of those are in the previews! The story line is this: Hot Rod is a very bad stunt man who is pretty much the laughing stock of the town. His father died when he was young and was supposedly a stunt man (later finds out he was not). His mom married another man and had a kid with him. His stepfather is very mean to Hot Rod and says that he is not a man until he can beat him up. Then, the stepfather has a heart condition and unless he can get a transplant he will die. This doesn't set well with Rod because he wants to prove to his stepfather that he is a man and cannot do that if he cannot fight him. So, Rod decides to earn money to save his stepfather and get him a heart transplant. There is a little love story with him in there and is mainly filled with him being a horrible stunt man and running into things. Some of these are funny but it gets old after awhile. I wish I would not have wasted my dollar to rent this and would like my time back. You can just watch the previews and see almost all of the funny parts! Definite thumbs down!
