I have been using Dogpile almost exclusively for all of my web searches for over 5 years. What I like about Dogpile is that it searches up to 4 search engines at a time and only returns results from engines that have atleast 10 matches for your topic. You can also narrow down your search from the start by choosing to search for MP3s, images, files, news, etc. It's great!
Here are a few tips to help cut down on unwanted results, try enclosing your search terms in quotes and use boolean operators such as "and" "or" and "u:". For example "Wizard of Oz" will produce a far better result than Wizard of Oz without the quotes. For web addresses, try using "u:", i.e. u:yahoo, this is a great way to locate home pages quickly.
