Ease of Use:
Pros:Smooth ride, easy to push on most surfaces, durable, lots of room to haul stuff
Cons:Not comfortable for taller kids, not the easiest to disassemble for storage or transport
The Bottom Line: This is a good stroller for someone who does a lot of walking or some jogging. It is very pleasant to use, for driver and passenger alike.
We bought this stroller three years ago, when our youngest son was one year old. Our other stroller had small wheels, which made it very tough to push around on gravel and dirt. We were at the local fair, dragging him backward on his stroller through pea gravel. It wasn't much fun for him or us. We decided it was time for a new stroller.
We found this stroller at Toys R Us, and haven't seen one for sale in any other store. Baby Jogger strollers, of similar design, cost several hundred dollars. That was the kind we wanted, but it was out of our financial reach. When we saw this stroller and that it was just under a hundred dollars, we knew it was the one for us.
The first nice feature is the canopy over the seat. It has pockets on either side, perfect for stashing little toys or treats or bottles or anything else you might want to have within easy reach. It also has a clear window with a roll back cover, so you can look through the canopy and check on your little passenger.
The handles are comfortable, and there is a hand brake to help you stop if you are going downhill or jogging. There is a wrist strap that keeps you connected to the stroller in case you stumble or lose your grip. The seat can be reclined to an almost-laying position, which is great if the little tyke falls asleep.
Underneath the stroller there is a big basket that is big enough to hold a diaper bag, water bottle, and other useful stuff for long walks.
There are just a few things that I was unsure about concerning this stroller. First, the main joints in the frame are plastic. This is always a concern to me, because plastic tends to crack over time. So far, there has been no problem. Secondly, there is a net over the back of the seat. It is so low that it is uncomfortable for taller passengers. Our son is now almost four, and he can't comfortably ride in it because the net pushes into the back of his neck. Thirdly, the front wheel is difficult to remove and replace if the stroller needs to be disassembled for transport in a car. Lastly, it is tough to get the harness snug enough for little babies.
The weaknesses, however, are far outweighed by the convenience of this excellent stroller. Though the instructions state that the stroller is not recommended for jogging, we have used it on the run quite often, and have had no problems. I guess if you are a marathoner, you should get something made for that. It is sturdy but not too heavy, and gives a smooth ride to the most discriminating passengers. I foresee getting many more years of use from this stroller.
