well the recipes, thankfully, are awesome. I found that to be the case with Boston's Rosie's Bakery, too, though: the cookbooks were much better than their own products, which I found tasted of shortening rather than the books' claimed "all-butter."

On impulse I tried one of their chocolate cupcakes. It was truly awful - dry, chalky, not much flavor, and, to add insult to injury, really expensive too.

Maybe they're recipes are better than their own products.
