Dear Ed (Reply to this comment)
by kristinafh
Almost two years later, I make my way to this review.
I can still hear your laughter - I can still hear your discussions with a certain youngster, warning him of the dangers of smoking. I remember time feeling suspended for a moment or two. But it wasn't awkward. It just was.
It's been just over a year since you last posted. I wasn't hanging around the site much - going through some of my own things. I'm sad Ed, that I wasn't here to hear your laughter once more. Or to read your last book review. Or to check in and see how you were doing.
Sometimes, we take our epinions friends for granted, thinking that cyber space suspends time - like we don't really age and time doesn't really move on.
Enough rhetoric :). Ed, I hope that you're in the bestest place that ever will "be". I raise a diet coke to you my friend.
Much love, Kristina

Tom: See what happens? You could have been part of it all and written one of your Lean Mean Reviews on it. Ryan is a very good-looking young waiter who had all the women and gay men drooling!

Amy: I'm sure Ryan has been through this kind of thing before, maybe not so much in text form on the Internet, but I'm sure he's been there and knows how to handle himself. People who are that good looking know they are and get used to it.

Virginia: that would have cinched the cab ride and we would have loved to have you. I carped about Aging categories and got no where. I think Epinions has to see that there are people over 60 who write and are vital.

Paul, I'll join you in the lineup if I can be lead kicker. We could put Bette Midler's Harlettes to shame. I'm sure Deb would love it.

' who really wonders about this 'Ryan' character who keeps turning up in these essays . . . '
I was thinking last night that poor Ryan is really going to have a reputation to live up to with his co-workers if any of them comes here to read these reviews. I just hope he's up to it!!

I Really Wish (Reply to this comment)
by Granniemose
I could have been there. I do know, though, that I would have whimped out on that long walk.
What fun to meet all these great people. I have had the pleasure of meeting Doc and Katie Bright Eyes - but how I would have loved meeting you and all the rest of the writers I enjoy so much - like Kamel. Great review, Ed. Rest up and take care of that back.

As for Paul's reaction to Deb, I bet it was a subliminal desire to have that mane of blonde hair.
I'm sure that's all it was, but I'm tellin' ya. I wouldn't given up my spot in the limelight just to be one of Deborah's back-up girls.

Margaret: Thanks for the correction. They keep saying there have been six M&Gs, but the forget to add the first on in Florida where only 5 or so people showed up.
The next on is in London but i don't know when! How does that grab ya?

SoCal M&G (Reply to this comment)

I'm not sure how many there have been, but Kristinafh wasn't at this one. The Chicago group sounds like a hoot. Where is the next one? I haven't been aroundmuch lately so feel pretty out of the Loop (that's a really lame pun, ICYHN.)

Thanks Caroline, I didn't realize we had a trio of damaged and aging beauties or I would have insisted on a taxi. I walk every day, but not so far or so fast. I also sit down a lot on benches.
The M&G was great fun and I really wish I had pushed myself to meet more people. As for Paul's reaction to Deb, I bet it was a subliminal desire to have that mane of blonde hair.

I would rather have had Ryan on my arm, but Deb was a wonderful accessory and a charming gal. You missed Ryan, I missed your Let Me Entertain You bit. I woulda been hooting and hollering with the rest of them.
I'd love to go to a live concert. Somehow being surrounded by the music and with friends in the environment beats the hell outa listening to it some other way. It was great fun and let's do hook up when you get to Milwaukee again.

I meant what I said when we parted, it was a true honour and privilege to meet you. I only wish we'd had more time to talk properly but the day was so crazy and I was going nuts.
That walk was hard for you, Lori and me with my bad back. I could barely move on Sunday from all the activity but I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Now a word for Paul... Deb was the hottest woman in the room eh? I guess I didn't show off my mini dress during karaoke enough. Oh I am deeply hurt.
Until next time, much love,
Caroline

If I'd have known you were such an Annie fan, I would've asked you along when I went. It was a marvelous time and a gorgeous night.
Speaking of gorgeous nights, you had the hottest woman in the room on your arm all night at the Meet N Greet... that Deborah's a foxy lady. That woman could damn near turn me straight, but I've got a feeling she's way out of my league.
Great to finally meet you... and I totally missed Ryan the Hot Waiter. Go figure.

Bonnie, I hope I accomplished my mission. I first saw Annie in a Kenneth Branaugh movie about one of the King Edwards. she was bizarre and wonderful and I was hooked. I think I would have put out good hard $$$ to see her and Sting on that last tour. Thanks for the visit.

Chris: NewsFlash, you don't have to crash anything. The folks from Brisbane announced the fact that Alexis got promoted to the London office and they were considering a London M&G how's that? I forgot to put that juicy tidbit in my review and here you give me the perfect opening. Now I'm the one who wants to come over to your side of the pond.
