The coasts have both had their share of gatherings--in fact I believe that there was one in LA a year or two ago...

Although if they held one in California again, I would certainly make every effort to get to it since that is the place I consider 'home.' (Not SoCal though--NoCal is where I've left my heart...alas.)

I say bring that Meet and Greet to Los Angeles, damn it! :)

Seriously, nice recap of your weekend. Sounds like it was quite eventful. I always love these sorts of gatherings. They are too much fun.

Texas is good! I could come to Dallas!

The whispering campaign has started :)

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you in Chicago--we'll just have to rectify that next time around!

Luckily I happened to be up there that weekend for a convention, so I didn't have to drive all the way from Oklahoma! I hope we get to have a M&G somewhere near us sometime; Texas is good! I could come to Dallas!

Texas is on the short list for a M-n-G... not sure if they're looking at Dallas or Austin, but either way, I'm sooo there man.

I'll be pulling for Dallas now that I know it'll involve BBQ!

Woohoo!

Jan--

There's some talk of having one down here in Texas--that's not too far to drive from Nebraska... especially if it includes BBQ :)

Seriously though--it's defenitely worth getting to a Meet and Greet if you can. I havn't spent time with so many outstanding people in a long time!

Geez,

Might be the first time I've ever heard my name and exuberance mentioned in the same sentence. I'm honestly a fairly shy person, but...well, you saw what happens when I get a bit of alcohol in my system.

Amy-it was nice meeting you and I'm sincerely disappointed that we didn't talk more (and I didn't properly introduce myself), but you and Andrew duetting-for me-was the highlight of the weekend.

See ya soon-where there's BBQ, there's Mike...

8:00pm for our long drive home. Some eighteen hours later (yes, we slept in the car at a rest area for about 2 hours somewhere along our route)

You guys just about pulled a When Harry Met Sally there! Whew, I don't know how ya did it, but I'm glad you're back safe and sound.

I knew you and Andrew had performed that song a few times before. I was just telling the crew in Brisbane that your song was tops on karaoke night from a pure vocal perspective. It was like professional karaoke night.

That was a fun night. Thanks for inviting me to hang out.

to meet you even though our chat was fleeting at best. Thanks to both of you for driving so far. You helped make the M&G a success. Sorry I wilted on everyone or I would have found a way to at least experience the Karaoke.

I promise that once you've had a couple of my margaritas it won't hurt a bit...

A woman after my own heart.. now THAT is an offer I simply cannot refuse. I'll even supply ear plugs for everyone.

Nope--you were on my list of people that I should have met but didn't.

Oh well--as DrFaustus aptly stated, that's what next times are for.

I don't think we had the opportunity to meet, did we? I feel terrible about that too. I am happy that you had a good time, because I certainly did. I am also very pleased that the two of you made it back safe and sound and wrote about it. It is so much fun reliving the event thru other's words.

My best,

You'll bring the brats? You don't even have kids yet and you already have affectionate pet names....

Ohhhhhh--you meant like sausages for the BBQ I'll bet :) But, hey, when you do have some kids you can bring them too--or maybe we'll come see you up there in cheese country so you don't have to haul the little ones halfway accross creation.

Seriously, I think you're great. I can imagine sitting up half the night with you, watching movies, talking about things that nobody talks about when the sun is up. If he behaves, maybe we'll let Andrew come too (but only if he can stay awake.)

It always reaffirms my faith in humanity that people like you and Andrew exist... in TEXAS even! Huzzah to that!

It was great meeting you, and it's a bummer I missed your badass brother's show. And Chicago is a very special town. Having grown up an hour north of there (near Kenosha, Wis.), I had the good fortune to have taken numerous school trips there as a kid... and I still have a serious soft spot for the place.

It was wonderful to meet you both. You have a beautiful voice, I would have loved to hear more.

Now for when we all get down to Texas, don't bother cleaning up anything, we'll just mess the place up again anyway. Once we wake up from wherever we pass out on Sunday night, THEN you put us to work cleaning up our mess.

Eric... I'll pick you up on the way south!

As I've said in other comments, I wish I could have stayed around longer and hung out for the after-festivities with you all, but that's what next times are for. I have been to Martyr's a few times in the past for shows, and from experience I can say that everyone who plays their is amazingly cool. I'm sure The Outlaw Family Band were no exception.

It was great to meet you, and I look forward to getting together with everyone again...

Hey Kath--I wish I'd had more time to talk to you too. 3 hours just ain't enough!! Everyone was just starting to feel comfortable with everyone, and then it was over.

That's why I think a day after BBQ is a good idea. The only bad thing is that I would have to actually clean the house and get the yard shaped up--but I should do those things once a year or so whether it needs it or not. Right?

When I Fall in Love is correct. Just remember that Andrew and I have the unfair advantage of having sung that song together several times (weddings of friends and the like...) so we knew all the right harmonies and whatnot. I think that everyone (with the possible exception with a couple of verrry drunk people from a couple of tables over) did a great job at their karaoke efforts.

....wonderful to meet you too Amy. What a great night that was. I even knew it was a great night while it was happening...that doesn't happen to me too often. Usually afterward I'll think back on it and realize how much I enjoyed myself.

Her eps name is Chalathra...but the name I put on her at birth is Melissa. I don't think I could have been creative enough to come up with a name Chalathra. lol

I wish I had, had a little more time to talk with you and the tomato....so little time and so many great people!! Ahhh well, next time. Hey and BBQ too???? Sounds like a good road trip to me.

.............Make it a great day.......kath

Hi Amy!

You rule and your singing made my eyes tear up! You and Andrew doing that song (still can't remember the exact title...is it "When I Fall In Love"?) is surely one of the things I'll never forget about the MnG.

So, Texas it is? If making it means karaoke AND a BBQ...I better start saving NOW!

peace & love,
Eric
