Not a deal at any price.

The Bottom Line: Mine leaked from day one. Save some agony and buy a Hayward or Jandy. Waterways unleashed a bad product and didn't back it up.

I have the unfortunate situation of owning 2 of these.

A product that never should have hit the market. I had a pool built with an SLV 56 1.5 HP for the booster and a 2 HP SLV 56 for the spa/ filter pump. The booster pump leaked from day one. I notified my pool company (Aquatic Pools of New Mexico), and all they did was tighten the bolts a couple times on the pump body and the motor flange. It started leaking again immediately, and soon the 2 HP filter pump was also leaking so much so it ruined my equipment pad the first winter because of all the freezing water. This winter it started leaking again like crazy (I have automatic freeze protection). Long story short, the pool company tells me there is only a one year warranty on these pumps, that the mating faces often warp, the threaded studs usually pull out of the pump body, and that the pumps are basically no good, and now they only use Jandy Stealth pumps.

I am disheartened that a company would turn out something so junky, charge a premium for it, and then not stand behind it.

Of course, my pool company is also to blame for not taking care of the problem from the start, and for selling something as top of the line then turning around and saying that it was no good.
