Best way to get a fresh start...

The Bottom Line: Excellent product that does as advertised, but depending on the application, the ready mix spray may be more appropriate.

We moved into our new home during the winter, and didn't want to pay the builder to landscape the backyard. So we were left with a yard of dirt, which quickly turned into a yard of weeds. It didn't take long for them to get out of control to the point where mowing was no longer an option. As spring rolled around and we wanted to prepare the soil and spread our grass seed, we had to make a decision as to how we were going to clear the weeds. Clear cutting and pulling proved to be much more work that it was worth. Looking for a more effective alternative, we opted to go chemically.

Since we were planning on treating the entire yard, the concentrate was more appropriate than the ready mix spray. Just pour the concentrate into a hose end sprayer, set the sprayer to the right mixture setting, and spray away. I did notice that the instructions do give different mixture ratios for different weeds and maturity levels, which can get a little confusing. I opted for the higher concentrated mixture, and within a week, the entire yard browned. Clearing the dried weeds with a weed eater was a piece of cake. We did, however, have to respray a couple of stubborn weeds before preparing the soil and spreading the seed. The time saved by spraying is well worth the price paid.

The only drawback to the concentrate, which is really more of an inconvenience that a con, is using the concentrate to spot treat. I would much rather spend the extra money on the ready mix spray than spend the time to keep mixing little batches. This doesn't really affect me much as I prefer to hand weed over the use of chemicals though.
