The Bottom Line Great deals, reasonable shipping; just be careful what you buy and expect to get what you pay for.

"You get what you pay for" is the saying that comes to mind when you look at buying from Overstock.COM. Think of it as an online thrift store and you will better know what to expect.
That's not to say that they don't have some outstanding deals. It just means you have to be careful what brands you're getting if you want to purchase only high quality products.
I've bought four things from Overstock -- a baby monitor, a set of Teflan cookware, a coffee maker, and a down comforter. All orders were promptly shipped at a reasonable delivery price. I got great deals on everything, and I made sure to purchase brand names for the coffee maker and the baby monitor.
However I was sent the wrong coffee maker; right brand, but the one I ordered was had a timer while the one I received didn't even have a clock. I telephoned the company to find out how to exchange it and was told to email them to receive a confirmation number. It took over 72 hours to receive the number, and I had to pay for the shipping to mail it back. (So essentially I had to pay shipping three times; once for the wrong one, once to mail it back, and again for the new one.)
The pans that we ordered were of so-so quality. Since we paid around $16 for them, I suppose we still got a good deal. (Just don't believe the "suggested retail price".) The down comforter was similarly of so-so quality, but again we paid under $40 including shipping for it.
