I saw 13 and you nailed it. The only part I enjoyed was the way they undermined the evaluation system by making the poor guy who rated the hotel miserable (a biblical Job in the 21st century), but at least the writers gave the audience a smile by having the slot rigged that he played at the end of the movie.
13 is another case of Hollywood using names and prequels to get the innocent consumer to drop a few bucks, and to suck those of us into it with the feeling that it is part of a set that has to be completed.
