Hehehe...
I'm sure that Ned1 would be more than happy to send you some Barbies! Hey! I'll be happy to send you some Barbies. :)
Hope that the move is going well...

Good luck (Reply to this comment)
by jnbmoore
My daughter's best friend (age six) is in the same boat with mom (dad is remarried).
I'd adopt her in a second but mom has custody and SRS hasn't done anything yet...
Good luck
So when's the baby shower? Maybe Ned1 could send you some barbies

The only thing freaky about you is how freakishly wonderful you are.
I was tearing up all over the place.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us - it really warms the heart to know people like you exist - you don't just talk about being a good person, you actually are one. I feel a little sorry for Anabelle's biological father - pride comes before a fall eh.
How lucky Anabelle is to have found your family - big brothers and a loving mother who really really cares,
my heart goes out to you and your loves ones,
Renee

Well, mom to be again (Reply to this comment)
by Annie_Crane
congratulations!!! Annabelle is apparently where she was meant to be all along. I've got to admit that I was a little disappointed to read that she doesn't like Barbies. I'm looking forward to that age. My first daughter hated them too. Pity, I still love them.
It's great that you two are together. I wish you the best of everything.
God Bless,

This is the adoption story (Reply to this comment)

I love to hear. No parents spending thousands of dollars to buy a baby... Just a child who needs a parent, pure and simple. No one is profiting, no one is being coerced. Bless you for your truly generous spirit!

I guess the holidays, my hormones and a few other factors led to me being a little wishy washy on this one. Annabelle is a great kid that doesn't really care what kind of toys she has to play with or having the latest fad in clothing. All she wants is her Cartoon Network, some peanuts [I swear she is going to turn into a peanut one of these days] and milk. Now sure how I am going to handle the whole dating / boys thing ... in fact, I think I felt a few new gray hairs start to sprout when I typed that out.

I've always believed... (Reply to this comment)
by CindyJean
I've always believed that 'family' had much less to do with biology than with love, and this just proves it.
Thank you for being the mother this little girl so badly needed and wanted. I feel for the father, but he made his bed. You could have walked away, but you didn't, and that's awesome.
We may not have much in common, but I admire what you are doing.

Just when I think you can't get any nicer... :)
Freak, you are amazing! Annabelle is one lucky girl to have you as her Mum. :)
Now, if this little girl stuff is throwing you a bit after all those boys... you just let me know. I have some experience in this area!!! (Hmm... note to myself, Annabelle needs a new Barbie.) ;)

I remember when you first started watching Annabelle and the shock of having a little girl around. Wow how those days have changed, eh?
Besides she is my kinda girl who doesn't like Barbie but likes Hello Kitty!
She can come over to my place and play anytime :)

Nice happy ending (Reply to this comment)
by bonniesayers
I knew what the outcome would be by the second paragraph, like a Hallmark or Lifetime movie.
Good luck with the move to the East Coast. Is the move related to getting out of CA or a career change?
Enjoy the snow!
