Another Cure(l) For Those Poor Dry Hands

Written: Feb 11 '08 (Updated Feb 11 '08)
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this product to anyone who has problems with their hands, but it wouldn't be the only one I would recommend.

After using Ultimate Sound Gold Bond Healing Skin Therapy Lotion, Aquaphor Healing Ointment, Dry Skin Therapy Plus Intensive Repair Hand Cream, Neutrogena Comforting Butter Hand Cream Butter Cream, and Aveeno Hand Cream Intense Relief with Natural Colloidal Oatmeal 200, it was time to try something new. I had no idea what I might try but when I saw the name Curel, it stopped me in my tracks. I had to try it because its name is well known and I would rather use something I know about than an unknown.

Curel Targeted Therapy Fast Absorbing Hand and Cuticle Cream is a cream to soften your hands and cuticles with its first application. What is different with this hand cream vs. all the others listed above is Soy Milk. It also contains: Water, Glycerin, Petrolatum, Isopropryl Palmitate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Paraffin, Stearyl Alcohol, Tocopheryl Acetate1, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate2, Retinyl Palmitate3, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Gardenia Tahitensis Flower Extract, Soy Milk, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Dimethicone, DMDM Hydantoin, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Propylene Glycol, Cetearyl Glucoside, Lecithin, Alcohol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance.

I have to be honest with you. This cream really softened my hands immediately after the first use. It did not soften my cuticles and I think it will take a while to do that. It has a nice scent, not real perfumy, and it feels cool on your skin.

There is a Toll Free Prodfuct Information number for you to call on Mondays through Fridays, 9-5. The number is 1-800-572-2931 but they tell you that the number is used for medical emergencies only. You can also visit the Curel site at www.curel.com. It is distribeted by Kao Brands which is located in Cincinnati Ohio.

I have tried so many hand creams and this is one of the nicest that I have used. As I have said in the past, however, as long as you cream your hands, they will feel better and become softer. It is all a matter of taste.

I will try another hand cream when I finish this tube of 3.5 fluid ounces and see if there is one hand cream really above the rest.
