Aretha Franklin article correction (Reply to this comment)
by cathier
Just one correction, my Aunt Jo King was her agent who owned the recording studio and got Aretha signed on to Columbia Records through Joe Hammond...article portrays her as a man "Joe King" but obviously she was actually female..Thanks, nice article!

This Review Is So Long!!! (How Long IS It!?!) (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
It's so long that I got sleepy reading it, so I took a cat-nap (right here at my desk) and woke up and read the rest!
VH--but only because I don't have one of those MH options!!!
This is a wealth of information on Aretha Franklin! I had no idea that her career was such a long one. I knew that she started out singing in church, but didn't realize just to what extent she did this. She's not only a major talent herself but comes from a very talented family as well!
I bet she was just adorable at the beginning of her career (talented tots always have a place in my heart) and it would be neat to see what she looked like back then as well as listening to what she sounded like.
And I plan on writing more on this in something special I'm about to write--and, when I do, there will be a link to this included in it! Will let you know when it's done!
Hugs!

Three settings to read it all is not bad. I'm glad you didn't try to read it all at once.

I really glad you enjoyed this one. I'm afraid my next one may be just the opposite, very short. I'm finding it hard to find much information on "Freddie & The Dreamers" since they had such a short career.

I could not believe she had only 1 solo pop hit and 1 with "George Michael", that fact was amazing since she had 20 #1 R&B hits.

Wow, 8 days is a longass time, man! But I see your extensive research has paid off. I didn't realize "Respect" was her only #1 song all the way until "I Knew..." in '87, and now that song's gonna be stuck in my head all night now!
Way to go,
TB
