Is StriVectin SD the New Botox?
by jo.com | Dec 19 '04
You must stay out of the sun and keep your skin moisturized. After that, some ingredients seem to help but more permanent solutions are an option for many including me.

Even though I don't know if you're still following this really old thread, I thought I'd let you know how interesting your review was. The Strivectin SD analysis gave me just what I was looking for, especially with the proprietary info you included. I've got a lot of hyper-pigmentation along a lower body lift scar and this was recommended to me. I think I'll try it and I'll let you know how it works for that.

Ahh, StriVectin... (Reply to this comment)

Coincidentally, I had several promo codes for "tote with samples" from online beauty sites, and I ended up with a bunch of little StriVectin SD packets. I hadn't heard of the product until Isaac Mizrahi started doing the commercials, but I was pleased to have samples since, for me, it's prohibitively expensive.

I don't have any lines yet, but I do possess a little eyebrow crinkle that shows up occasionally. I used the StriVectin SD for two days, and it's gone. Absolutely gone. If I discontinue use I'm sure I will see it again. I am surprised at how well it works, though. Now I'll know where to turn when the day comes that I *do* need it.

The only thing I didn't like is the fact that it looks, smells, and feels exactly like baby diaper rash cream.

Most useful review I've ever read. I am heading for Restylane later this year but decided to try Strivectin in the meantime. Bought it yesterday. I'll come back in 3 months and let you know if it worked at all and if it was worth the price.

Jo~

That pic is from last January, so a year old. I have another line on my face now due to a fall and 8 stitches in December. If I find a coupon for Strivectin, I will send it to you. Before Christmas there was one for $35 off!

Thanks, Jo!

Deb how old is that picture of you:) My gosh!
I like the StrVectin. In fact I was thinking I will soon need more though I rarely buy the same product twice since I product hop:) I love Restylane. My mouth did look a bit like Goldie Hawn in the First Wives Club (was that the name?) for a while -even my kids noticed - but I still see the affects of my last injection. I had a deep line under my lip I hated and it is still not showing. I'm hoping to wait until April or May and then I'll get another one. I caught a glimpse of a new laser technique I have to find out about as well. E-mail me if you want about these procedures. I've had a few! jo

My goodness, Jo! This was just excellent. I just started using Strivectin 1 month ago yesterday. So far, I can barely see any results. A friend told me that it took 2 months for her to notice. How about you? I am quite interested in the Restylin (spelling) shots. Sounds like you are happy with them. I'm envious. Did you know that we were the same age? Shhhhhhh!

Great job!

Peggy, have a wonderful time! Lucky duck:) My uncle died of melanoma and my mom has had several bouts with it but luckily they have gotten them all in time. Still I am such high risk (plus though I can fix my face there's still the rest of my body that can end up like a prune like my mom) that I wear a cap and sunscreen even in the shade:) But the fact is just going outside means I'd hit by the sun. I also bought myself a shirt last summer with an SPF in it and love it. I tell people I don't sit in the sun. I hope they learn something from my statement. I worship the sun from a distance and for a few minutes a day our bodies I think require it. That's it though. Again enjoy our trip. We were there a couple of summers ago and just loved it. Would go back in a heartbeat if it weren't 5500 miles away. Thanks for r/r/c. jo

The money we plop down for these products is incredible. If only I had been more careful when I was younger. I'm going to Kauai next week but I'll be slathering on the highest SPF I can get. People always expect me to come back with a tan, but I am already seeing what years of sun worshiping can do to the skin.

Take care,

Peggy
