I recently purchased some Lenox champagne toasting flutes from Homeclick.com and although the merchandise was exactly what I wanted the customer service was below average. The reason for this was due to the fact that on the website the description of the flutes that I was interested in purchasing was only one word, which in my opinion is not at all enough to reassure me that what I was purchasing was the correct flutes. So my next step aside from email was to speak with someone who could let me know that the flutes I was ordering were the right ones. I spoke with a gentleman who was very nice, but was not able to let me know what definite style the flutes were because there were 2 kinds with the same name, but had different stem styles. Anyways, so then I asked him if there was anyway that he or someone in the where house could check and he stated that the flutes were in boxes and there was no way that he could open them up to see. At this point I was thinking, "what?" So then after that I asked him what if I was to order them and find out that they are the wrong ones, I can return them, right?
He then said that I could but they are subject to a 25% restocking fee. At this point I was ready to give up and call it a day, but decided to order these flutes anyways, because they have since been discontinued and impossible to find anywhere. Thank goodness they were the right ones, but it took a chance on my part and a little bit of luck. Which leads to my final conclusion that I think if retailers are going to sell items online they need to make sure to list all of the components of the items you are purchasing as well as a very detailed description, which I believe will eliminate some of the questions that the buyers have. I also think that this store sells some great items, but if you are purchasing anything, just make sure to have the style number and know exactly what it is you want to order before you order it.
