We do about 2-3K of purchases with Amazon each year, and continue to bring them more of our business as their inventory and connections expand. One error in five years, where we got a text intended for someone else. We mostly buy books, but recently discovered on mysimon.com that Amazon had the best price on a high-end printer we were looking for, and two days later it was here. Delivery is consistently better than we expect, and they are the best in the business about letting you know of where your shipment is in place and time as well as any delays. Multiple options to change your mind and your order, right up to the moment it is about to ship -- and then you can still return it if necessary. When we have out of print or texts to locate, we go to Amazon and they find someone who has it so we don't have to search for it. That alone saves us tremendous labor costs. The web site is fairly self-sufficient so you hardly ever need to talk to a person; when you do need personal service, it tends to be form letters and not real service. Reader reviews are thorough and very helpful; plus you can sort your choice by reviews, price, availability, date, and other factors which are helpful in making a buying decision.
