The Jetta was the first car I ever owned and I think it is great for beginning drivers and first time car owners. It is a zippy compact car with great handling. I can do turns limited to 30 MPH at 50 MPH with ease. The full package comes with optional system readers that display the weather and current gas mileage. My gas mileage is not all that great because it is a turbo (about thirty miles per gallon on the highway), so if you are looking for a good gas mileage, do not get a turbo (I recommend the diesel). The trunk is not spacious at all, but I guess that is what you get with a compact car. Has the option for manual drive, which I never used, so I am not sure how good it is. The leather seats are very comfortable and durable. Some of the add-ons are heated seats, heated side mirrors, daytime running lights and a good stereo system (great bass). The keyless entry device contains the key to the car, and it flips out real cool-like. It even has a button to pop the trunk. Overall, the Jetta is a fun, compact car, and you get a lot for your money. I also hear that it does not depreciate much over the years.
