I'm with you on that! I wouldn't have TV if it weren't for my wife, and still we only have basic cable. I get my news on the radio and internet so I would be happy as a pig in crap to get all my TV shows off DVD and use what I pay for cable to build my personal collection.

All hail TVD (Reply to this comment)

Totally agree, currently one of my favorite shopping interests is getting hold of the vast back catelogue of TV series I've watched and loved.
There are so many wonderful obscure British comedies out there that NEED to be watched and savoured, as well as those staple American classics such as Simpons, Futurama, Scrubs, Fraiser, Six Feet Under, 24 etc.
I've never been the sort of person who has the personal discipline or time management to watch all episodes of a series I love, so I get a buzz about having them all at my finger tips.
And now, not currently having a TV at home (yes folks, you read that right, and I really don't miss it) I can fill my time watching the series I love, without the comercials... I'm my own TV programmer... what control!
Best recent purchase, Fraiser season 1 - 24 episodes!!!
Beautiful.
Anyway, in short, I agree.
