My home is 4 bedroom 3 baths, living room, family room, dining rooms and 2 entrance halls...all with tile floors. When I have to wash my floors its got to be with something that will do the job for me not make me work harder. I've tried a string wringing mop. The design just doesn't seem to work for me, I feel as though I'm pushing puddles of dirty water around.
I have the Swiffer. I love that for quick clean ups in the kitchen or bathroom. It works well in small areas and smells great. For the amount of floor I have to do in the rest of the house I need something that won't wear me out. I saw the ad for the Libman Wonder mop and decided to give it a try. Price varies from store to store. Target carries it and so does Publix.
This mop has an anti bacterial head that is removable and machine washable. It consists of strips of material in a peach and white design. Each strip is about 1/2" wide and 10 1/2" long. When you want to wring the mop out a white plastic grooved "sleeve" slides over the mop head. The grooves, four of them, are nice and deep with holes on either side. This sleeve also has holes on top of the grooves. This pushes the water out. You then slide it back up the length of the mop's work end and click or push it into it's holder. You don't get your hands wet. Sometimes, while you're mopping this part will disengage but that's not a big problem , you just snap it back into place. The whole unit is very light weight. I have a bad back so all this is important to me.
You can use your Libman mop to clean the top of your refrigerator or cabinets and I've even used it on the blades of my ceiling fan with some success. You can buy new refills.
The mop head is made with non-woven, premium synthetic material and is replaceable. There is a hang hole on the top of the handle.I haven't had to replace mine yet and I've had it almost a year.
A little history tells us that William Libman started the company in 1896. During World War I the Libman company produced 2500 brooms a day for the War department.
Libman also make brooms, brushes and cleaning tools. They make the Gator mop, twist mops, dust mops, and wet mops. The Libman Wonder mop is a called a wet mop. Their wet mop line consist of cotton deck mops, jumbo cotton deck mops and cotton wet mops. I like the wet mop a lot but I find for corners or anything gunked on the floor the Gator mop, being stiff and rectangular with a rough side to it works better. The wet mop has a loose action and you can't get the force behind it that you get with a stiff sponge design but its great for large expanses of floor. So, I have three mops in my collection, the wet, the Gator and the Swiffer.
The whole design is fairly well thought out and works beautifully in a large, expansive area.
