I ordered a flip down dvd player from this company, and have been totally frustrated with their customer service. The unit was advertised as coming with 2 wireless headsets. the unit only came with one. When I asked about getting the second set I was told that it was a catalog error and only 1 came with the unit, and there was nothing they could do ( nothing they can do is a recurring theme). When I advised them I paid by credit card and would dispute the charges unless the order was made right, they said I could purchase another set of headphones and they would reimburse the cost of the headphones up to 10% of the price of the dvd player, since they no longer carried the dvd unit.
Fast forward.....I used the dvd player 1 time on a long trip, and the monitor quit. After about 30 minutes rest, the monitor came back to life and worked the rest of my trip. 1 month later I was taking a trip and decided to try the system again, and the monitor did not work. I emailed Heartland for a copy of my receipt, and told them that I needed warranty assistance and was contacting the manufacturer since they no longer carried the item.
Upon speaking with the manufacturer, I was told they were not an authorized reseller, and that warranty assistance must come from Heartland. When I called Heartland, I was told that the unit was now beyond the 90 day warranty, and that it was my fault that the warranty had expired and I should have purchased the extended warranty. Here's the thing. I emailed them 4 days BEFORE the expiration of the warranty, advising them of the fact that I needed warranty assistance. I offered to forward the copy of my email to them, which I had saved, which clearly shows the date and time in the headers when the email was sent. here it is, 48 hours later and still no response.
I am still without a functioning dvd player, and with a huge hole in the headliner of my minivan where the dvd player sits. I am also without the 6 hours it took me to install the unit, the 1 hour to remove the unit, and the 3 hours I have spent so far trying to rectify the situation.
My advice......stay away from this company. The prices look good, but for all the aggravation I have suffered, I would have gladly paid more to be treated right.
