Thanks for the comments. I agree 100% with you. No one should ever play paintball anywhere near the unprotected.
I will correct just one minor point you brought up though. There is what I would call a less than slight chance you will get permanently injured. More people visited hospitals in 2003 for golf injuries than paintball injuries. The odds of serious injury is extremely remote in paintball. I would not let my own children play this game if they would likely get hurt!
Thanks for the comments though!

Thanks for making me more familiar with this game... (Reply to this comment)

...even though being more familiar with it doesn't make me like it any better.
I don't like games like this (e.g. boxing, red rover, football, hockey, and paintball) where the game involves a lot of pain and even a more-than-slight chance of permanent injury.
Although I wouldn't start a campaign to pass laws to ban any of them, the last thing I want is to have them forced on me--meaning that the only place I'd like to see them played is where they can't overflow onto other people.
That means playing nowhere that these paintballs might end up striking someone who isn't geared-up properly.
Therefore, I'm not impressed with the idea of playing in the woods--unless it's a woods contained within a compound where paintball games go on.
When paintballs escape the confines of the game, that means they aren't being played in a safe place.
So my final verdict on them is to have them always played in places where the paintballs don't escape.
Beyond that, I have this quote my mom likes to say that very well sums up my take on this game:
"Different strokes for different folks!" said the old lady as she kissed the cow's hind-end.
Peace!

You're right. It's always the people who abuse it who make the news.

Hey Christian!
Good to see you around! I think I left a comment somewhere else, but if not, I'm delighted for you with the new baby. Cool article - it was a nice diversion from antics elsewhere on the site - don't ask :)
Hope to see lots lots more!
